Daddy Day

So i wasn't going to post this often, but Sophia had a conversation with Jake this morning that i just HAD to share. After we had gotten breakfast together, it was time for Daddy to return to Nascar for the weekend. He told Sophia that he had to go back to work. She clearly was having a "Daddy Day" as we call it and did NOT want him to go. He assured her with his usual "Daddy has to go to work to make money so we can buy you toys." and normally he would end it at that..but today he asked "When are you going to go to work Sophie?" Her reply made us both almost die! "No daddy! Girls don't work...boys go to work! Boys get the money..silly daddy." After much laughter he asked her what girls do.. "Girls go to target and buy me toys. Girls go to stores. LOTS of stores!!" Apparently without trying we've instilled our jobs into her little brain :)

I mentioned earlier that she was having a "Daddy Day". This is what we call it when she only wants one parent all day long. She switches on and off daily, but for that one day she definitely plays favorites! A girlfriend of mine mentioned in one of her blogs that Daddies are the most important men in little girls minds..and plays the role of Prince Charming for them. This was very clear to me this morning as i was reading Sophia a little mermaid book. At the end there was a picture of Ariel kissing her prince. Sophia asked me "Whats Ariel doing Mama?" to which i replied "She's kissing him baby, she loves him." She swung her head around to face me with an unbelieving face and said "No Mama..her loves her Daddy." So at Two and Half...Daddy is the ONLY man on there minds, and clearly the only Prince Charming :)

Here are some pictures of Sophia with her Prince Charming:
